It would not surprise me if they do not perform better with that cancer gone.

Also announced on the Bears' web site. http://www.missouristatebears.com/sp...011615aab.html

Sure hate to see that kind of talent exit the Valley. We're seeing too much of that. OTOH, both parties may well be better off with a separation. Time will tell.

Paul Lusk wasn't all that well liked by Bear fans before this so he certainly will be under the gun even more going forward.

I just read the Marcus Marshall threads on their board. They REALLY hate Lusk.

I think he should go to K-State and see how he and Marcus Foster get along.

The local sports radio show reported that Lusk will grant the transfer as long as MM is eligible. MSU doesn't want a hit to their APR.

It's in MM's best interest to stay eligible as well:

The most complex transfer process can be when an athlete wants to transfer from one four year school to another. Unfortunately, this is becoming more common

One of the most important requirements when transferring is to stay eligible at the school you are leaving. If you are not eligible at the first school, you generally may not use a transfer exception to play immediately at your new school. If you are transferring to a Division I school, you also may not receive an athletic scholarship during your first year if you were not eligible to compete when you left your previous school. Finally, remaining eligible also reduces your impact on a school’s Academic Progress Rate if you transfer, which can make getting permission to contact or assistance with your transfer easier.

Why would a kid do this!? I just don't get it. It screams all kinds of bad character to me. I really doubt Lusk "ran him off." He probably just didn't play favorites and that upset a diva.

Contrast that with Weems who stuck it out through a letdown year just to stay faithful when he could have gone about anywhere. I didn't like him at the time, but the more and more I keep watching MVC talent transfer out (and the list is getting big...and these guys are doing well at their P5 landing spots), the more I respect a guy like Weems. The MVC needs more guys like him.

Marcus Marshall channeling his inner Iverson: "Defense. We talkin bout defense."
